One of the oldest in Texas, the Pheasant Ridge vineyard was first planted in 1979. Entirely self contained, everything is done on site and most of the wines are labeled “Estate Grown” – meaning they are from the grapes planted at the Pheasant Ridge vineyard. The grapes are hand picked and include many French varieties – Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and even Pinot Noir. Like France, many of the wines are blended and the Cabernets are extensively aged in barrel and bottle before release.
